What To Do On A Bank Holiday Weekend

Don’t we all love a bank holiday? It’s the only thing better than a weekend. It takes Thursday being the new Friday to a whole different level! Here in the UK we have been blessed with a whopping nine bank holidays in 2023 with 3 of those being in the month of May. Yep. You heard me.

Whether you’re going away or staying put, the opportunities seem endless, maybe even overwhelming. I’m here to help. Read on to find out what I think you should fill your (hopefully) sunny days off doing.

  1. Bottomless Brunch

It’s not everyday that you can start drinking bubbly on tap from 10am whilst simultaneously enjoying a banquet of food. Tequila Mockingbird, Putney are kind enough to offer a cocktail on arrival followed by 90 minutes of bottomless Prosecco, beers and Frozen Margaritas. And to top it all off… bottomless pizza. You had me at Margaritas!

Bar Elba, Waterloo are pulling out all the stops with a Vegas these bottomless brunch. Say no more, it’s a no brainer!

If these don’t tickle your fancy, (you’re odd), but have a quick Google and you’ll find plenty of other options which might be right up your street!

2. Stand-Up Comedy

Get yourself over to Covent Garden for an unmissable evening of laughter. This event features international comedians ready to have you gasping for breath in between laughs. They really are offering something for everyone and you don’t want to miss out! Grab a group of friends and enjoy some drinks beforehand in the heart of Covent Garden.

3. Darts !!!!

Flight Club, Victoria may just be the place to be. Transported to a whole new world, this a truly unmissable experience. Go with a group of friends and spend the evening drinking, eating and most importantly, throwing darts. If you’re not to be trusted with a dart then there is plenty more to do and see with the Magic Gardens waiting for you to explore.

4. F1 Arcade

This thrilling experience will divulge you into the world of a champion for the night. It’s been a long time coming but F1 Arcade is here for you and your friends and family to enjoy. Fitted with all the excitement of Formula 1 (apart from the drivers themselves, that’s your job) there are 60 full-motion simulators as well a number of food and drink options for you to enjoy. No matter what level you believe yourself to be, from Rookie to Elite, there is a place for you here.

5. Picnic in the park

Although weather dependent, a picnic in the park is always fun. There are a huge array of parks across London to choose from, whether it be Hyde Park or Richmond, you’re bound to have a good day. Grab all your favourite snacks and gather a group together to enjoy the sun and some canned cocktails this bank holiday.

6. Pub Crawl

At the top of my list to do, is a pub crawl. It takes a little more planning than the usual spontaneity of strolling down to the pub, but it’ll be worth it. Depending where you’re based, do some quick research on the pubs around you and come up with a route. Don’t be surprised if you end up spending more time than planned in each pub the more drinks you have. Just settle in and enjoy!

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone !!
